Broadleaf Spraying on New Pasture
We recently captured footage of the DJI Agras T50 drone conducting a broadleaf herbicide application over newly established pasture in Central West NSW. As the latest and most advanced agricultural drone on the market, the T50 delivers significant improvements in efficiency, coverage, and control—especially when it comes to delicate, early-stage pasture work.
While most of our photo footage to date has featured the smaller DJI Agras T30, this operation showcased the step up in capability offered by the T50. With increased payload capacity, advanced obstacle avoidance, and optimised spray precision, the T50 is quickly becoming the new standard in aerial application for Australian farms.
Broadleaf control in young pasture is critical for establishing strong, weed-free feed early in the season. Drone spraying ensures even application across soft or wet paddocks, with zero soil compaction and no wheel damage to vulnerable growth.
About the Operation
This job was carried out using the DJI Agras T50—currently the most advanced agricultural drone available. Designed for high-efficiency spraying, the T50 features improved tank capacity, wider swath coverage, and intelligent obstacle sensing, making it ideal for broadacre and precision applications alike.
For this application, a selective broadleaf herbicide was used to protect newly germinated pasture. The flight path was pre-mapped for consistent coverage, and the drone’s automated system ensured minimal overlap and accurate delivery rates throughout the paddock.
As always, the operation was conducted by a licensed and insured drone pilot in full compliance with Australian chemical use and aviation safety standards. Our approach focuses on maximising efficacy while minimising soil disturbance and operational delays—especially in challenging ground conditions.
